AN INTERIOR designer famed for her “lazy girl hacks” has now shared her messy girl’s guide to interior design.
Briellyn Turton, founder of Studio Brie, is an expert in all things homeware but understands life sometimes gets in the way of having a picture-perfect home 24/7.

But having a home that looks like it was curated by an interior designer isn’t something reserved for tidy people – there are ways to make your mess stylish.
Turton has revealed exactly how to do this in a tell-all TikTok video.
“If you love interiors but you’re not the tidiest person, then you are in the right place,” she said.
Turton’s first tip was to follow the “bedside rule of three”.
“I swear by this,” she said. “We need three different compartments for three different types of things that I know you’ve left on your bedside table.
“Number one is a tray for things that are meant to be there. So, on my bedside table, that is a room spray and a little dish for my engagement ring.
“Number two is a smaller dish for last minute things that I have forgotten to take off, like earrings or hair ties. They go in dish number two.
“Now, compartment number three is a little drawer at the top of your bedside table to put all of the random things that have somehow compiled themselves on top of your night stand.
“They get swept in there when we go to bed. You can go to sleep in a nice, clean space and you can clean that drawer out later.”
Turton’s second tip was about sorting out your pantry.
And as most Brits don’t have a pantry in their home, the tip can be applied to kitchen cupboard organisation instead.
Rather than decanting food into glass containers to match popular Instagram home aesthetics, she advised having big boxes to throw everything into.
You can categorise each box depending on what food you have, such as one for pasta and rice, another for sauces and another for tins.
“It keeps things uniform, it keeps it neat and aesthetic, but we don’t have to do the upkeep of the decanting,” Turton said.
The expert’s final tip was to have an “abundance of matching coat hangers”.
“I want you to go as far as always having a spare box of coat hangers in the bottom of your wardrobe,” she said. “Because then, again, the floordrobe’s out.
“If you have a beautiful set of matching coat hangers, it just makes you more motivated to actually pick up your pieces and put them back in your wardrobe.
“You might even colour coordinate while you’re there.”
