Commenters to her post were both stunned and stumped by her find.
There seemed to be no explanation, but some fans did offer their views.
The video came from Fluffyandthegoats (@fluffyandthegoats).
She has a popular TikTok following of over 21,000 plus another 376,000 likes.
Her platform remit is, she said: “[To] spread joy through our hilarious animals.”
But it was less joy she spread through this post and rather more shock.
And it was a huge detour from her usual content.
“In the middle of a remodel, and look what we found underneath the bathtub,” she said.
First, she showed a before photo of her bathroom and it was a bathroom much like any other.
But when she came to take out the bathtub it was another story altogether.
Once the old bathtub was removed, she was staggered to find another beneath it.
“What in the world?” she spluttered. “Oh my God what is that?”
It was a blue, sunken bath, and something of a mystery.
One fan enquired where “was the drain going, through the other tub?”
But she didn’t know: “We had someone else take it out because it was a beast of a tub,” she wrote.
Her post has been seen over 45,000 times and received hundreds of comments, many from Interior designers.
This guy explained why it might have been done this way in the first place: “That’s how a lot of remodels are done. It’s pretty common.”
“Why would you mess with perfection?” was the reaction of this fan. “I could literally stand up and get out of the bathtub without injuring myself if it was at floor level,” he said.
Another liked it: “Now you have a sunken bath for much less cost.”
It was a bit retro reasoned this fan: “Okay but that shade of blue is 60’s vintage I think. My grandmother has a similar one. Super cool.”
This person was in favor of restoring it: “Oh my I would definitely keep that and make it functional again.”
