Adolfson & Peterson completes 2 Texas hospitals worth $37M

by

Minneapolis-based contractor Adolfson & Peterson completed two hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas worth a combined $37 million for medical facility network Reunion Rehabilitation Hospitals, the company announced last month.

Both hospitals, one in Plano, Texas, and the other in Arlington, Texas, were developed by America Development & Investments, a Dallas-based healthcare real estate developer, and officially opened in July, according to AP spokesperson Allison Klingsick.

Reunion Rehab Plano is 55,617 square feet and boasts 48 patient rooms, high-tech therapy gyms and an outdoor courtyard, per the release. It’s situated on 2.5 acres, also has dayroom areas and spaces for physical therapy, staff amenities, food service and dining and administrative offices. AP broke ground in October 2021.

Reunion Rehab Arlington is a three-story, 50,800-square-foot complex with medical staff rooms and expansive dayrooms for patients, food services and dining areas, fitness and physical therapy spaces and an outdoor courtyard for patients to practice walking on various surfaces and inclines, per the release. The Arlington hospital broke ground in January 2021.

AP has a history of partnering with Reunion Rehab, according to the release — the contractor built three additional hospitals for the firm in Phoenix and Peoria, Arizona, and Inverness, Colorado.

The contractor has been especially busy in the Lone Star State — last year it built the PGA of America’s new headquarters in Frisco, Texas, and in May, it won a $74 million office rehab contract for defense contractor Raytheon’s Plano, Texas, office. The award tracks with what AP’s director of preconstruction for central Texas, Tommy Meserole, told Construction Dive in March: AP is bullish on the region.

“It’s a thriving region and the continual influx of people and businesses requires bigger buildings and more transportation infrastructure,” Meserole told Construction Dive.
