If you have ever done your own home remodel, then you know how difficult the process can be, start to finish. And if you are preparing to do your own remodel, then get ready for some stressful moment. Most notably the hardest part of home remodeling is making design choices. Such things as what carpet to choose, which countertop, vinyl or wood floors, what paint colors look good but don’t clash, which lighting fixtures match the desired aesthetic, and even the type of knobs for your kitchen cabinets can have a drastic impact. Perhaps the most crucial is choosing a kitchen backsplash- if you are doing one- and YouTube page @daoramanostore shared a video with professional advice to consider when creating a kitchen backsplash.

Adding a backsplash to your kitchen is a great way to create a custom look within your kitchen space. And depending on the material- such as tile- it can be a lot easier to clean up after a messy cooking season, and reduce the pressure of wall stains from food and drinks. But with so many options on the market, choosing the right kitchen backsplash can be incredibly difficult.

The major “don’ts” on this design page recommend keeping in mind when creating a backsplash; Using busy patterns in small spaces. This can cause the space to feel even more small and cramped. Opt for lighter colors to make the space feel larger. Also don’t use an excessive mix of patterns, as it makes the space feel chaotic and cluttered.

Their major “do’s” suggestions include creating a focal point, with a bold pattern or different material, sorta like an accent wall for the kitchen. Also consider experimenting with texture, which can add more depth to a space. And lastly, match your grout to your tile so it complements each other and polishes the look off!
