Mycon names senior VP for Texas, Arizona

by

Mycon General Contractors promoted Rick Dubec to senior vice president in charge of the firm’s Central Texas and Arizona offices, the Dallas-based contractor announced in a Sept. 12 news release.

Dubec, who’s been with the company since 2016, will lead the firm’s special projects and distribution center sectors, while overseeing multiple project teams.

With family ties to the construction industry, Dubec kicked off his building career in 1991 after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

In 2004, while working in College Station, Texas, he partnered with a small general contractor and quickly established himself in the retail and grocery remodel sector, according to the release. He merged his team of seven employees with Mycon to establish the firm’s special project division, also based in College Station, in 2016.

The division now has 165 employees across Mycon’s four offices, with projects across 15 states. The unit accounted for more than $200 million in revenue last year.

Dubec has also helped Mycon cement its relationship with retail giant Walmart as a Walmart General Contractor Advisory Council member. Mycon counts more than 25 of the retailers’ projects in its portfolio.
