Parade of Homes provides ideas, inspiration for attendees | Local News

by

Multiple different people paraded around Elizabethtown and Vine Grove to see the best models that local home builders have to offer.

The annual Parade of Homes presented by the Lincoln Trail Home Builders Association offered residents looking to build or remodel the chance to see designs of six homes.

One of the homes included was 101 Drayton Drive in Elizabethtown from Will Harris Homes, and multiple people who looked at the home complimented how the interior got them curious about future design possibilities.

According to Ryan Lackey, attending the Parade of Homes and seeing houses such as that one is a fun activity to do with his family.

“I just wanted to check out the interiors of the homes and see what’s out there,” Lackey said. “For someone wanting to build a home, this parade is definitely a good way to get into houses before making your own decisions.”

Kristoffer Hart and Becky Hart said coming to the home was an effective example in the market to look at while they’re renting.

“We’re just seeing what’s out there and available in the market,” Kristoffer Hart said.

“I think it’s nice to see what’s in the area while seeing a lot of variety in styles and price points,” Becky Hart said.

Another home available in the parade was 810 Abbeywood Road in Elizabethtown from Smith Family Homes Inc., and its interior truly stuck out in the minds of its visitors.

According to Shelley and Mike Wallace, the home had interior decoration that gave them ideas in their own remodeling.

“The sink in the kitchen is really cool, and I love the backsplash in the house,” Shelly Wallace said. “The electric fireplace is also really neat, and I’d love to have gas or electric in my house.”

Harold and Cheri Dunn, who are in the process of building a home, also said that looking at the home gave them a lot of good ideas to consider.

“They’re doing some neat stuff with the flooring, and I like looking at how they’re mixing both stone and fiber cement siding in the exterior,” Harold Dunn said.

“I like how they’re doing the kitchen islands and the lovely showers in the bathrooms,” Cheri Dunn added.

Also shown in the Parade of Homes was 162 Wyndy Place from Murrell Construction in Vine Grove, which many felt showcased an interior that really spoke about the point of the parade.

According to Martaj Sanders, she wanted to come to the parade specifically to get ideas about remodeling her house, and she was not disappointed.

“I’ve seen different tiles, paint choices and a lot of different trims,” Sanders said. “Events like these really help you know what’s going on in the neighborhood as well as new trends.”

Allison Loesevitz said she and her husband Thomas are looking to build a little cabin, and they’ve had a home entered in the parade before, always coming back for a date.

“It’s great to showcase all the builders and local people who are doing their best to provide for our community,” Loesevitz said. “I really love all the bathrooms because they’re just gorgeous with all the different tiles, fixtures and organizations.”

Other homes that were part of this year’s parade were 115 Hollow Bridge Drive and 506 Brighton Court in Elizabethtown from Brantingham Builders Inc, and 908 Rothbury Circle in Elizabethtown from Smith Family Homes Inc.
