In keeping with tradition, spring will arrive at the CHI Health Center from March 1 to 3 when the 58th Annual Omaha Home & Garden Expo returns for a weekend blooming with fresh ideas and inspiration for homeowners. This year’s event, which coincides with the Omaha Lawn, Flower & Patio Show, promises the finest showcase of products and services for the home and garden in the Midwest.
“Once a year, everything comes together under one roof,” said Mike Mancuso, president of Mid-America Expositions.
This year’s Expo boasts hundreds of displays across 150,000 square feet and features industry experts and inspiration for do-it-yourself home projects.
“Purchasing a home is the largest investment most people will make in their lifetime,” said Mancuso.
What will homeowners see at the expo? “Everything from top to bottom,” said Mancuso. Roofing, siding, replacement windows, patio furniture, lawn equipment, outdoor living spaces and more will be on display.

“Backyards, and even front yards, are increasingly considered another ‘room’ in the house,” said Mancuso. These inviting living and entertaining spaces run the gamut from full outdoor kitchens and pergola-covered patios to fire features — each creating different opportunities to gather together outdoors.
For those looking to increase curb appeal, a wealth of landscape and design experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide inspiration. For those looking to refresh hardworking interior spaces, a wealth of remodeling contractors will be on hand with kitchen and bath installations featuring different surfaces — from flooring and walls to countertops and colors.
“We spend a lot of time in our homes, and adding value as well as enjoyment is key,” said Mancuso.
“This Home & Garden Expo is where you can meet those experts, get advice and leave with an established contact for when future issues arise,” he said.
Attendees can anticipate an appearance by Shane Duffy, co-host of the popular HGTV show “Build it Forward,” who will share his unique approach to home repair — one that’s earned him national acclaim. Duffy will present “Do It Yourself Tips” featuring behind-the-scenes glimpses of his show, plus answers to all your DIY questions.
Family-friendly attractions include The Canine Stars performing tricks and stunts (as seen on “America’s Got Talent”) and exotic animal shows by Wildlife Encounters (featuring animals from around the world). The Fresh and Local display area will showcase regional products like one-of-a-kind garden art, local honey, spices and dips to sample.
Whether you plan to browse exhibits and glean home-improvement ideas or simply stroll through the beautiful landscape gardens brimming with flowers, cascading waterfalls and the glorious smells of springtime, mark your calendar today for the 58th annual Omaha Home & Garden Expo.
“It’s the home and garden event of the year,” said Mancuso. “And it’s going to be fun!”
