Landmark breaks ground on 1,286 beds near University of Southern California

Property: The Standard at Los Angeles
Developer: Landmark Properties
Location: Los Angeles
Beds: 1,284
Cost: Withheld

Athens, Georgia-based real estate firm Landmark Properties is developing a new student housing property near the University of Southern California’s campus in Los Angeles, combining a new mid-rise with five existing renovated townhomes.

Located a few blocks south of the USC campus, The Standard at Los Angeles will be on the east side of the 160-acre Exposition Park, a public gathering space full of museums and sports and entertainment venues, including the BMO Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

“The location boasts remarkable access to academics, athletics and neighborhood amenities while the size of our site will allow us to deliver something truly unique to the market,” said Wes Rogers, president and CEO of Landmark Properties, in the release.

The Standard at Los Angeles will consist of 1,284 beds total — 1,236 beds across 429 units in the mid-rise and 48 beds in the townhomes. Floor plans will range from studios to five-bedrooms. Each unit will be wired for high-speed internet, and will include vinyl tile flooring, wi-fi thermostats, in-unit laundry, private baths and kitchens with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops.

Over 60,000 square feet of amenities, one of the largest amenity footprints in Landmark’s portfolio, will include an outdoor rooftop pool with a Jumbotron and grilling stations, a rooftop clubroom and fitness center, multiple study lounges and an interior courtyard with a micro-market. Covered garage parking will be available on site.

The Standard at Los Angeles will be Landmark’s second student development in the market, following The Mark at Los Angeles, which serves UCLA. Landmark’s in-house general contractor, Landmark Construction, will manage the construction and renovation, and The Standard at Los Angeles is expected to open in August 2026.
