Lindsey (@everydaygracedesigns) shared the interior design trick in a viral TikTok video.

She explained that instead of paying for expensive designer pieces, she utilized a photo feature that scanned for look-alikes.

“I would never buy anything without going on Amazon or Google and using the Lens feature,” she said.

“You can upload photos of items that you really want and it will find you dupes and really good options for way less.”

WHAT NOT TO DO

Lindsey added that her list of don’ts include never buying full-size pillows.

Instead, to save on space, she opted for quality inserts and covers, which made changing pillows and storage easier.

She also advised viewers never to hang curtains directly above a window frame.

To give the illusion of a larger room with a big window, she recommended hanging curtains high and wide.

Lastly, she revealed that as a budget-minded shopper, she would never pay full price for a rug or buy expensive art.

Instead, she opted for discount decor sites like RugUSA.com and Wayfair for sales and Etsy for downloadable art.

Lindsey argued that the quality of the art was the same and with a digital download, you’d own the art forever.

Should the need arise, the art could also be printed and re-printed at stores like Walgreens.

‘TOTALLY DOABLE’

People thanked her for the helpful and affordable advice.

“First designer advice I’ve ever liked and found useful,” said one commenter.

I would never buy anything without going on Amazon or Google and using the Lens feature.

“Usually it’s just opinions that make me feel bad about my house.”

Others agreed that her advice was constructive and offered tangible help.

“I appreciate this better than everyone saying your home is outdated,” said one.

“Really like these tips!! Totally doable,” agreed a third.

Some expanded on her advice, adding in tips that elevated the decor even further.

“Yes on the Etsy downloads, but print them at a higher quality photo lab — they’ll look way better,” said one commenter.
