Corvette C8 Interior Refresh Reportedly Coming After 2025 ZR1 Launch

by

The wall of buttons stands a little longer, as the Corvette ZR1 will arrive before supercar’s mid-cycle refresh

  • 2025 Corvette ZR1 will have the same interior treatment as the eighth-generation models that preceded it.
  • Chevrolet was expected to update the Corvette’s interior in time for the 2025 model year.
  • This report casts doubt on that timeline.

Chevrolet was expected to bring a selection of updates to the interior of the Corvette with a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year. As a result, you might have anticipated that the Corvette ZR1, set to be unveiled this summer, would debut the new changes, but you’d have been wrong, according to a new report.

The upcoming super-high-performance model will reportedly feature the same interior as all other eighth-generation Corvettes, according to GM Authority, citing unnamed sources. This means that the controversial “wall of buttons” will also be present in the ZR1.

That aligns with earlier spy photos of a 2025 Corvette Z06, showing an unchanged interior. This suggests that the cabin will receive a refresh later in the C8’s life than initially anticipated.

The refreshed interior is expected to introduce a variety of improvements, most notably the removal of the cluster of buttons that slopes down from the infotainment screen to the center armrest. While it provides drivers with access to physical switchgear, it has been criticized for creating an obtrusive barrier between the driver and the passenger.

Rumors have suggested that Chevrolet has been considering removing the button-packed center console since 2020, but the latest reports indicated that this interior design feature would be departing in time for the 2025 model year. However, it now appears that it has been allowed to stand a little longer.

But let’s cut Chevy some slack; it’s been hard at work on the ZR1, which it will finally unveil in the summer. In the first teaser for the car, the automaker said that “no Corvette has ever moved quite like this.”

The ZR1 is expected to be blazingly fast, offering drivers 850 hp (634 kW / 862 PS) and 825 lb-ft (1,119 Nm) of torque. Alongside its impressive powertrain, it will boast a prominent rear wing, new air ducts, an air extractor in the hood, and a suite of other tech enhancements aimed at making it a track monster.
