The new business expands on AECOM’s capabilities in high growth areas such as advanced digital water asset management and automation, environmental permitting, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) remediation and emerging opportunities for water solutions in high-tech environments, according to the release. In previous earnings calls, company leaders cited booming demand for its stormwater management and wastewater treatment services, as well as PFAS remediation.

“I’m thrilled to join AECOM, partnering with an incredible team to further expand our industry-leading water and environmental practices with a strong commitment to collaboration and accelerating innovation,” said Hudkins in an email to Construction Dive.

“As client demand grows for a trusted strategic partner, we will focus on creating partner value and optimizing performance earlier in the project lifecycle, helping clients address their multidimensional water and environment challenges with innovative, high-impact solutions that deliver lasting global impact.”

Most recently, Hudkins served as strategic advisor for Pasadena, California-based civil engineering firm Tetra Tech, where she worked for 23 years, according to her LinkedIn profile. During her tenure, she led the advancement of digital applications and data analytics across its global operations in water, environment and sustainable infrastructure, including Tetra Tech’s digital water practice, per the release.

Hudkins obtained her master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Duke University.
