Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar at 10209 River Coast Drive at Town Center will open Nov. 7, the company said Oct. 29.
It is at the former Ida Claire restaurant. Ida Claire and Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar are both owned by Dallas-based FB Society. Ida Claire closed March 10.
Whiskey Cake will have 314 seats, including 62 on the patio. Private dining is available for 42 seats, or 84 standing.
There will be between 107 and 110 employees.
Jabari Simpson is the general manager.
Plans called for remodeling the Ida Claire space with new interior finishes and furniture; redoing the exterior finishes; construction of new parapets; and replacing patio furniture.
Accelerated Construction Services, with offices in Orlando and Texas, is the contractor for the interior and exterior remodeling of the more than 6,700-square-foot property.
The permit showed a project cost of $890,000.
Ida Claire’s signature Airstream trailer used as outdoor lounge space will remain for Whiskey Cake.

Whiskey Cake has 10 locations, comprising eight in Texas, one in Oklahoma and one in Florida, in Tampa. Jacksonville is listed as coming soon.
They are open daily for lunch and dinner and offer brunch on weekends.
Hours for the Jacksonville restaurant are open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Lunch and dinner menu includes snacks, comprising 11 from flash-fried Brussels sprouts for $9.50 to a butcher board for $21; eight mains from the $20 harvest shepherd’s pie to a $31 for steak frites; five sandwiches from the $16.50 hot hen to the $18.50 smoked tri dip; four salads from the $15 golden beet salad to the $18 lemongrass shrimp & noodle; as well as sides, kids’ meals and juices. The prices and items served are from the Tampa Whiskey Cake menu.
Mimi’s Cafe first opened at the location in 2005 and closed in 2019. FB Society purchased the property from FLLM LLC, based in Orlando, for $2.7 million and opened Ida Claire in 2019. It announced its closing on Jan. 24. At the same time, it announced that Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar would replace Ida Claire.
