Jacobs is strengthening its foothold in environmental and infrastructure resiliency, according to a news release.

The Omaha District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently awarded Jacobs a $249 million architecture and engineering services contract. The deal will support environmental projects across the Northwestern U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and other outlying areas, according to the Dallas-based firm.

Jacobs’ scope of work includes design and specialized services such as environmental compliance, support during remedial construction, National Environmental Policy Act documentation and other environmental studies, according to the release.

“[Jacobs] will provide comprehensive environmentally responsive solutions to meet client goals,” said Susannah Kerr, Jacobs senior vice president. “Jacobs’ ongoing support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers across the globe highlights our continued commitment to working alongside government agencies on national security infrastructure and resiliency.”

The five-year contract, which began on Oct. 1, includes an additional two-year extension for task orders.
