Architecture and design studio Architectus has been shortlisted in three categories for the 2025 Australian Interior Design Awards, recognising the firm’s contributions to public and workplace environments across the country.
Two of the firm’s South Australian projects, the Flinders University Health and Medical Research Building and the Flinders University City Campus, have been named finalists in the Public Design category. Meanwhile, the Macquarie Group Global Headquarters in Sydney is in contention for the Workplace Design award.
The nominated projects span a broad range of typologies—from advanced medical research laboratories to cutting-edge corporate environments—each shaped by a collaborative design process that foregrounds innovation and user experience.
“It’s an honour to be recognised among such an accomplished field,” the studio said in a statement. “These projects represent not only architectural ambition but also a commitment to shaping the future of how we work, study, and conduct research.”
Architectus acknowledged the contribution of numerous collaborators on the shortlisted projects. Partners for the Macquarie Group headquarters include Lendlease, JPW, Rapt Studio, Yerrabingin, Balarinji, Hecker Guthrie, Cox Architecture, ASPECT Studios, THERE, Steensen Varming, and Electrolight. Flinders University projects involved Hansen Yuncken, Mott MacDonald, Arup, KBR, WGA, Oxigen Landscape Architects, Jacobs, and Parallax Design. The City Campus was delivered in partnership with Walker Corporation and Elevation Design.
Winners of the 2025 Australian Interior Design Awards will be announced in early June.
