Pinterest Reveals the Top Home Design Trends That Will Define 2026

by

Interior Design by JAM Studios

In 2026, home décor will go from minimal to maximal in a big way. From circus-inspired ceilings to red bathrooms, this coming year is expected to bring bold, not boring aesthetics, according to the latest research from Pinterest.

The newly released Pinterest Predicts 2026 Trend Report highlights the next big things in fashion, lifestyle, travel, beauty, parenting, and more. Based on data from 600 million monthly users, the platform’s analysis goes beyond search queries to identify fast-rising patterns, comparing searches from September 2024 to August 2025 against those from September 2023 to August 2024.

According to the social media platform, trends are evolving more than four times faster than they did seven years ago, meaning consumers are fighting trend fatigue. To combat this, people are expected to prioritize self-expression, comfort, and identity curation in the new year, especially when it comes to their living spaces. Here are the top trends that will be popping up in homes in 2026.

Space-y Spaces

In 2026, Gen Z and millennials are looking to outer space for inspiration, with searches for “alien core aesthetic” up 80 percent. Expect holographic home accents, bubble chairs, and iridescent accessories to fill spaces in the coming year.

Circus Vibes

Circus-inspired home décor will be on the rise thanks to boomers and millennials, Pinterest predicts. Think bold stripes, sculptural silhouettes, and a nod to “The Big Top,” the name given to the tent of a traveling circus. According to the data, searches for “circus interior” jumped 130 percent, while interest in striped ceilings rose 40 percent. Pinterest says the trick is to find balance by pairing punchy patterns with pared-back palettes so the space feels elevated with just a touch of camp.

Doily Décor

Doilies will have a moment in 2026, with searches for “lace doily” up 105 percent, according to the report. In addition to infiltrating fashion, the trend will appear in home décor with frilly-edged dinnerware and pretty fabric coverings.

Art Deco Revival

Art Deco is getting a modern twist for the new year. After years of leaning into minimalism, Gen X and millennials are bringing this retro aesthetic back with crisp chevrons, fan arches, and other geometric pieces, all edged in chrome or brass. For example, interest in red marble bathrooms rose 80 percent, while searches for “pendant lamp” are up 40 percent.
